Christmas Meal

Enjoy well-composed dishes inspired by the flavours and aromas of Christmas in a unique setting. We offer two different options of the Christmas meal prepared by award-winning chef Sanny Lind. We recommend that you combine it with a Christmas tour of the mill. 

Option 1 – Christmas menu

We welcome our guests with hot Christmas cider or sparkling wine and snacks in one of the paper mill's 19th century buildings. Then we serve you a well-composed Christmas menu with a taste of our most cherished classics, mill favourites and local ingredients. The dishes are served directly at the table and end with dessert. The menu includes: 

  • Pepper pot 
  • Mustard-grilled celeriac with smoked pork and hazelnuts  
  • Juniper-pickled Störmländ elk with chanterelles, salt-baked swedes grown in the widow's garden patch at Tumba Paper Mill Museum and preserved uncooked lingonberries  
  • Swedish spice-baked char with Jerusalem artichoke and our own dill  
  • Cheese from Jürss dairy with green tomato jam and fennel seed salad  
  • Cardamom whipped cream cheese with candied pears, mill-grown currants, saffron cake, caramel sauce and chocolate crumble  
  • Candy with white chocolate truffle and blood orange cube.

Prices and booking for option 1

  • Christmas meal – lunch: SEK 655 excluding VAT 
  • Christmas meal – dinner: SEK 795 excluding VAT 
  • 12 percent VAT will be added. 

Drinks package 

Option 1: SEK 255 per person, excluding VAT: 

  • Hot spiced apple cider made from rescued apples 
  • Choose between 2 units of Christmas beer 33 cl (regular strong beer 33 cl) or the house red/white wine 
  • Coffee/tea 

Option 2: SEK 310 per person, excluding VAT: 

  • Sparkling wine 
  • Choose between 2 units of Christmas beer 33 cl, regular strong beer 33 cl or the house red/white wine 
  • Coffee/tea 

Alcohol-free: SEK 142 per person, excluding VAT: 

  • Spiced alcohol-free apple cider made from rescued apples 
  • 2 units of soft drinks, mineral water or alcohol-free Christmas beer 
  • Coffee/tea

Option 2 – Christmas smörrebröd sandwiches 

Three small smörrebröd sandwiches on our homemade soured milk bread:  

  • Christmas ham, apple compote from mill-grown fruit, mustard and green cabbage
  • Christmas herring on thinly sliced potatoes
  • Artichoke, garden cress and seaweed
  • White chocolate truffle

Times for Christmas meal sittings

The following times are available for Christmas meal bookings from 22 November to 22 December:

Lunch Sitting

Tuesdays and Wednesdays 12:00 and 13:00. The sitting lasts 1.5 hours.

Dinner Sitting

Wednesdays and Thursdays 17:30 and 18:30. The sitting lasts 2 hours.

For larger groups, we can tailor the day and time. 

Sitting for Small Groups – Saturday, 3 December 

Lunch sitting

12:30, 13:30 and 14:30.

Christmas guided tours

Tumba Paper Mill Museum is a historic paper mill dating back to the 18th century. Step into history with a tour in connection with your Christmas meal. Advance booking required.

Tour option 1: Manager Fiebelkorn's Christmas 

We show and tell you about what it was like to live and work at the Tumba Paper Mill in Kölnan, one of the oldest buildings, and about Christmas celebrations in a time of upheaval between self-sufficiency and the new. The tour takes 30 minutes. 

Tour option 2: The Old Fire Station

Botkyrka-Grödinge's first fire station, called Spruthuset, offers a lot of fire brigade history. We tell you about the development and some dramatic events. The tour takes 30 minutes.

SEK 75 per person.

When you book the Christmas meal, please fill in which tour you want to take. In the confirmation email, we will let you know what tour times are available.

About chef Sanny Lind

Sanny has over 20 years of experience in the industry in restaurants such as Gordon Ramsay's Maze, Sheraton Hotel and Villa Talliden. He was also a semi-finalist in Chef of the Year – Swedish Championship 2018. His food philosophy can best be described as rustic elegance with great ingredients served with a twinkle in his eye.

Getting to the museum

The museum is 25 kilometers south of Stockholm, and you can easily get here by car or public transport.
