Parental Leave
Swedish banknote paper has been produced in the Tumba Paper Mill since 1755. At the museum, you can learn about Sweden's banknote history, and about the people who lived and worked at Tumba Paper Mill.
Visit the restaurant and café
Spend some quiet time alone with your baby, or meet other parents for a coffee or lunch! Enjoy our beautiful and intimate indoor environment, or outdoor seating (weather permitting). You can even buy take away.

Child-friendly café
There are a number of highchairs and bibs available, and we are happy to help you heat up some baby food. The café offers squeeze bags for babies. We always try to offer options on our menu to suit individuals who are vegan, vegetarian, lactose intolerant and gluten intolerant. If you have any questions about allergies and the café's menu, please speak to our kitchen staff or contact us in advance.
If you have small children, rest assured that we have changing tables and a potty seat in our guest toilets.
The restaurant and café has the same opening hours as the museum.

Activity: baby impressions
Create a memory that lasts a lifetime and make an impression of your baby's hand or foot! We use white cotton pulp and gently dip your baby's hand or foot onto the mould. A few seconds later, it has become a sheet of paper with your baby's foot or handprint in it. Once the paper has dried for a few days, we will mail it to your home.
The activity is suitable for babies 3–12 months of age. No prior experience required. Our knowledgeable staff will guide you through the whole process.

Start time is 10:00. Latecomers will not be admitted. The activity takes about 60 minutes, and some waiting time is involved. Please respect that no siblings are allowed in the room during the activity.
Cost and booking
Price: SEK 75 for adults. Thereafter SEK 50/sheet of paper (maximum three sheets per baby). You can buy your ticket in the main entrance/reception of the museum in the Oxhuset building on the same day between 9:30 and 10:00. First come, first served (no pre-booking).
Visiting the museum with a pram
Tumba Paper Mill Museum is near the Tumba town centre. There is a bus from the commuter train station, or you can walk with a stroller from the station to the museum in about 20 minutes.
Some of the museum buildings (Oxhuset, Röda magasinet, Spruthuset) are accessible with ramps and lifts, and others are not (Kölnan).
Baby showers and naming ceremonies
Do you know someone who is having a baby? Feel free to book our facilities to hold a baby shower or naming ceremony. Combine papermaking with some lovely bubbly or a cosy coffee party with delicious pastries.
