Group Booking

At Tumba Paper Mill Museum, we are happy to welcome all kinds of groups, from companies and organisations to private individuals – every day of the week.

Learn about the history of the mill, the history of banknotes, and hand papermaking, either on site at the museum or digitally. If you want to do something creative, hands-on and inspiring, you can choose a tour where you can try making your own paper. It's fun and easy! Why not make reservations for your group for lunch or refreshments at the restaurant and café?  

Guided tours for booked groups 

Are you a group who would like to take a guided tour of Tumba Paper Mill Museum? We are happy to help you book a tour. You can choose between three different themes. The tour can take place inside the museum, outside at the mill site, or in digital format via Teams or Zoom.  Tours take place every day of the week, not only on the days the museum is open for visitors.

Tour themes

The history of Swedish banknotes and papermaking by hand

A tour of the history of our banknotes from the oldest banknote to the present day. We demonstrate papermaking by hand, in the same way banknote paper was produced at the mill up to 1955. 

On site at the museum, the tour takes about 60 minutes. The tour takes place in the Oxhuset and Röda magasinet buildings. The buildings are accessible. Please read more about accessibility here. Digitally, the tour takes about 40 minutes. This takes place on Teams or Zoom. The maximum number of participants is 25. Two groups can take the tour in parallel.

Life and work at the mill and papermaking by hand

A tour of what it was like to live and work at the Riksbank's banknote paper mill and a tour of papermaking by hand. 

At the museum, the tour takes about 60 minutes. We walk between different buildings of the mill, which means that we spend some time outdoors. This tour includes a building that is not accessible. Read more about accessibility here. Digitally, the tour takes about 40 minutes. This takes place on Teams or Zoom. The maximum number of participants is 25. Two groups can take the tour in parallel.

The history of paper and try your hand at papermaking

A tour about paper as a material and the different steps of the papermaking process.

During the tour, participants are given the opportunity to try their hand at making a sheet of paper, which is sent home to them once it has dried. No prior experience required to make your own paper. Our knowledgeable guides will help you. It's easy and fun! 

On site at the museum, the tour takes about 60 minutes. The tour takes place in the Röda magasinet building opposite the main entrance/reception of the museum. The building is accessible. Please read more about accessibility here. This tour is not available in digital form. The maximum number of participants is 15. Only one group per start time.

SEK 1,500 per group of 25 (or 15 for tour with own papermaking)

The prices below are fees for groups of up to 15 people. For groups with 16-25 participants, an additional fee of SEK 85 per person applies. Please note that for papermaking, the maximum number of participants is 15.

Food and drink

Our facilities do not allow you to bring your own food or drink. However, you are welcome to set up a picnic on the mill grounds. Otherwise, please pre-book your group's food at the restaurant and café. For groups, we offer hot lunch, refreshments with coffee and sandwiches/cake, Christmas meal or afternoon tea. Book a custom package that suits you!

Are you a tour operator or coach operator? 

Travelling to Tumba Paper Mill Museum by bus is easy and convenient. Parking for buses is available directly adjacent to the museum. There is also space for a bus to turn around. We have extensive experience in working with bus companies and tour operators.
